How could I plot the S&P index over GM or GE to know whether the stock has outperform or underperform against the S&P

How to save this overlay chart ,create a template so that I could overlay other stocks (like 3M,Merck,Wallmart .....) against S&P.[:)]

There is an indicator built-in named the Relative Strength Comparative. You can simply drag this on to the chart and point it to the SPX for the desired symbol to compare to. You can also use the Insert, Security function to insert the SPX into your chart.
Then choose to Save as a template (File, Save as, change the Save as type to Template or right click in the chart and select Save as default template).
