Hi all,
Is there any way to program the trading rule so that one rule has priority over others.
Eg : i have a long position, and receiving a sell short signal. However I do not want to execute it if I have not closed the long position.
The only way to close the long position is following the sell signal, instead of forced by sell short signals.
All inputs are greatly appreciated.

Hi gombong,
Do a search of the forum for latch or latches and see what comes up. There is a useful function in the Forum.dll that might suit your purpose.

Wabbit,
Do you mean the way to tackle it is to use the PREV based latches?
To my knowloedge, the FORUM DLL will force to a short position when a short sell signal is issued after a long position has been taken despite the fact that a sell signal is not yet issued.

Hi sa, (long time, no hear) PREV based latches are one method that could be used to achieve the aim. The Forum.dll latch function, with its very generic logic system flops from the long to the short, unless the input variables are specifically designed to stop this from happening. By redesigning the logic of the latch, it possible to personalise the latch to each trader and their own trading rules. I have written much about this on the Forum before. BTW: to see the difference between the Forum.dll Latch and another customised latch see http://forum.equis.com/forums/post/16453.aspx
