Hello together,

i hav a really simple/big question :
"How Can I Open A Chart Within A Benchmark ?"

I`ve upload a picture to get the answer better ...
That´s what i want !!! For example : I open a JOHNSON & JOHNSON Chart and the DOW JONES INDUSTRIAL AVERAGE 30 Index will open itself in a new inner window also - like in the pictrue above !!!

I`ve tried with "Save as ..." as "Save as type: TEMPLATE" with "DEFAULT.MWT" !!!
but this is only possible with new Charts/Symbols - which i am opening at 1st !!!

But i need this function for every Shares/Symbols, which i am using every day 2,3 times - and sometimes for diffrent self-determination Benchmark (like the example above with the DOW JONES 30 Index).

What i have to do does it get works ???

Stay On Focus :

hey ms leopard...... it would be nice if we had just a tad more flexibility in layout and template creation..... your request is a case in point.....

however, one 'roundabout' way to achieve your goal would be to create a layout.... first place your index as the top chart and second place your security in the lower ...... adjust their size, dates, and such.... then save that as a layout....

now just open the layout and change your securites in it.....

if you uncheck the option 'change all charts in layout' you can change the bottom chart and the index stays as is..... or if you want to change the index ,it will change and the lower chart remains as is.....

you can use the arrow keys to scroll to next security or just type symbol and hit enter.....h

Thanks hayseed,

i get the sit clear with a simply template creation ... That`s was what i want pristinely !!! I find it as i ransacked the user guide ...

For everyone who is interested to create a benchmark - template :

01. Open the share - for example "J&J" (JOHNSON & JOHNSON)
02. Open the benchmark - for example ".DJI" (DOW JONES) - in a new inner window
03. Mark the benchmark - for example ".DJI" (DOW JONES) - in the new inner window
04. Save the share/benchmark chart as a template
05. Close the share/benchmark Chart
06. Open a new share - for example "MMM" (3M)
07. Click then the right mouse button & then "Apply Template ..." too
08. The benchmark should be opened right now
09. Now you can save the share/symbol with the benchmark as a chart
10. Now you can open "MMM" (3M) with the benchmark when ever you want for the next time
