What is the best way to determine whether an indicator is sloping up or down?

I have been using an IF statement and REF which works ok, but some custom indicators don't give you the opportunity to insert the REF function.

Thanks

Reddog,

Try the ROC() function.

Thanks wabbit,

Once you suggested it it is quite obvious but there are so many functions to get you head around, sometimes you don't see the forest from the trees.

The following, I believe, would give you the linear regression slope of the last five days of the 50-day simple moving average of the close. Substitute the indicator of your choice ... ;)

Slope50:=LinRegSlope(Mov(Close,50,S),5);
