When programming an indicator is there a way to assign a color and/or line style. All lines are red and its difficult to determine what’s what when I use my indicator. Any ideas or is this something for the Product Wish List Forum?

Thanks

srturgn,

Welcome to the Forum.

Unfortunately, the MetaStock formula language does not interface with the MetaStock GUI, so you cannot programmatically define indicator line style, type, colour or weight. This is not something that will be changed in the near future despite being on the wishlist already for quite some time too.

You can manually change the colours of each indicator output by a particular function by selecting the object and formatting as you would any other MetaStock object. To avoid having to this on each chart, after you have made your changes and have your chart looking good, save the chart as a template and apply this template to all your subsequent charts. You can read more about creating templates and formatting indicators in your MS Users Manual.

I hope this helps,

Thanks wabbit,

I've saved a template with the line styles and colors, simple fix.

It will be nice to format the line when you write the program, looking forward to the upgrade.
