I loaded the same layout on two computers, and noticed the data (the last bar) was different on them.
At first I figured it would correct itself, but I let it run for 3 hours and they were still different.

This is with Metastock Pro FX 9.0 and the Reuter's data link: USD/CAD.

Any ideas?

(is there a way to embed images in this forum?)

Use the Downloader to view the raw data in the associated files. MetaStock only plots data, it doesnt manipulate it any way shape of form, well at least, it isnt supposed to!

I think you will find this is a data related issue? Let us know.

Yes I believe it is a data related issue, which is why i posted it in this forum. :)
I was under the impression that Equis ran the data servers. Is this not correct?

Also, this is real-time data, can the Downloader view that?

You can still use the Downloader to view RT data, just remember that your data is stored (by default) in the online directory (nominally : C:\MetaStock Data\DataOnDemand Cache )

The data on the chart will continue to update from yuor data feed whilst you have the Downloader open, but the data you see in the Downloader will not update.

As for Equis Data Servers... you'll have to ask them about that!

Here it is the next morning and the data is still different. I was half expecting it to correct itself overnight.

Anyway, I opened the data in the Downloader as you suggested, and I see some strange things.

Let me start by noting that one of the computers is running WinXP, and has the correct time/date.
The other computer is running Win2000, and the time is an hour off, I suppose because of the
Daylight Savings Time change we recently had in the US. Even if I manually set the time, it soon
resets itself to an hour off. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I thought I'd mention it.

$$USDCAD:

WinXP:
03/26/2007 1.16050 1.16370 1.15970 1.16070 0 0
03/27/2007 1.16110 1.16190 1.15570 1.15710 0 0
03/28/2007 1.15710 1.16100 1.15600 1.15990 0 0

Win2000:
03/26/2007 1.16050 1.16370 1.15970 1.16070 0 0
03/27/2007 1.15710 1.15740 1.15630 1.15690 0 0

You can see the 3/26 data (and everything before it) matches. On the 27th, it is different,
and on the Win2000 machine, 3/28 is not even displayed. (I did close Metastock on both
machines before opening the data).

I also checked the other five securities I watch in real-time, and none of them have data for the 28th.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you an Equis employee? I hope they pay you for all the time and
effort you put into these forums. :)

Firstly, no I am not an Equis employee and no I don't get paid!

Secondly, I am pretty sure that Microsoft have patches for all their operating systems for the daylight savings issues. Check to make sure that all your OS patches and service packs have been updated/installed. You should get into the habit of doing this on a regular basis, if you don't already.

Next, I would take a backup copy of the C:\MetaStock Data\DataOnDemand Cache folder, then delete the contents of the original folder. When you next connect to the data server, it will download some back history that should correct the recent data hiccup? If it doesn't then let us know and we can try something different.

I deleted the files in the cache folder, and that did fix the problem.
Now to find that patch for the DST issue. It's apparently not in the auto-update patches,
which I do have turned on and up to date.

Thanks!

(And if I was making any money on this I'd toss you some coins [:)])
