Hi all,

Well, I just can't find the changes implemented in Metastock 10 (except a new set of indicators).

What are the improvements (language, usability etc.), the new features ?
Is Metastock 10 more efficient than the previous versions ?

Thanks for your help,
Cheers

Olio,

Did you have a look at the Equis website for the information?

I'm still waiting for a footnote on that page, listing the names of all the traders "taken by storm" by RMO.

https://www.metastock.com/whc/ms10.aspxI did. But the description provided by Equis is a bit scant.
For instance, what are the new features of the language ? etc.

Olio -

I think you are onto something here. The new features available in the v10 upgrade are, as you say, "a bit scant".

Version 10 offers "integration" (isn’t that a cool word?) with some of the most recent subscription services (Dynamic Trend Profile, and Reuters PowerScreener). So I guess you could call this a new feature that is more efficient at siphoning money from your checking account.

The usefulness of the included RMO trading system is debatable (see posts on this forum for more info on this). Bottom line: This is a black box system that offers no hint on even the highest level theory on how it is constructed or in what types of market conditions it has been optimized. Cast your fate to the wind, if you will.

Equis lists "resizable windows" as a new feature. Can you imagine that? I always thought that resizable windows were a feature of the Windows operating system itself!

The most useful new "feature", for me at least, is that there are now 12 available columns in the Explorer. With that said, there is a known bug in the code that can sometimes cause the system to have a hard crash. So far mum's the word on when (or if) a patch will be issued to address this.

Sorry for such a negative review of this latest offering from the folks at Equis. I'm in a bad mood as it is the weekend and I am struggling to perform my weekly scans and this version 10 is even slower and more memory inefficient than ever.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for your input. There's no two ways about it : I will stick to MS 9.
It is a pity Equis did not implement some features of the wishlist...

I remember that I have read it somewhere. If I remember rightly, there is a bug on one column...

Can you provide the link of the thread or just elaborate?

Sa
