I have a feeling the answer to this question is rather simple, but...

Is it possible to open a blank chart (i.e. a chart that does NOT have a security tied to it)? What I am trying to do is create a chart where I can plot a ratio, such as DJI to GLD. I've developed the small "indicator" to plot the ratio, but cannot plot it onto a chart without having a base security assigned to the chart.

Since I only want to see the ratio, I simply delete the base security from the chart. But, I'm just wondering if there is a way to plot the indicator on a blank chart with no base security assigned.

Thanks much!

hey jon.... your delete the base security method the easiest way known to me..... however it would take less than 2 minutes to turn your indicator into a security.... then, indicators, experts and such can be properly applied to it and it alone......

Hi jon,

Another method is to create a "composite" using downloader, File \ New \ Composite, name your composite, say JON, browse your data folder, choose DJI as primary, and choose GLD as secondary, the operation should be "divide", leaving weighting factors to be '1'.

Then you can open a chart with JON, it should show the ratio.
