Dear Experts,

Could anyone help me to solve this problem:

Previously I limited my daily updated stocks to TOP500 (with Downloader's Create new files blocking)

But now, I want to change data supplier providing GICS classified data into different folders for ALL traded stock.

Problem: how can I integrate them together with saving my "lines" on previously analysed TOP500 stock files?

Thanks for any idea

hey redrunner.... smart charts can be moved or even sent to others .... so yes its possible to move the smart charts from your old folder to the new ones... the difficulty lies in lining up the smart chart numbers exactly.... 30 or even a hundred would be easy enough but 500, hmmm.....

will you have any control over the different folder creation or manipulation.... we seldom use the term 'gics' here in the states so your likely dealing with a provider i unfamilar with....

by top500 , does than contain 500 securities and if so do all contain 'lines'.... % ?

even with no folder control on your end it still can be done.... but folder control would make it a simple matter....h

hayseed,

Thanks for your answer.

Your idea seems good, but I do not know linking information between .DAT and .MWS files (MASTER file says nothing for me)...

Could you tell me, where is it situated? (renaming of MWS files according to new data supplier's DAT order is a no-brain job....)

Thanks a million

ps: TOP500 is 500 stock on ASX

hey redrunner.... if by any chance you could recreate the top500 exactly, both symbols and names, you could just copy your existing mssmart folder and paste it into your new data suppliers folder....

otherwise you'll have to rename each 'c' number associated with each symbol in your old folder to match that symbols new position in the new folder list.......

here's a brief idea of how to tell which smartchart goes with each symbol...... like i said before, moving 30 wouldn't be too bad , 500 will take a while....h
