I am using 'The Downloader v. 8.01' to download end of day data. Recently I have been receiving volumes of zero for some securities. This is an error because I have confirmed with other data vendors that the historical dates for these securities should have real volume.

On the NYSE I am using the symbol 'BTE' and from the dates of 20031010 to 20040923 the volumes are all zero even though there is trading data.

Can someone confirm whether they have experienced the same issues and if so, how to fix this? Can an Admin shed some light on this? I can provide other securities that are also giving the same volume error for certain dates.

Thanks,

Calgary.

hey calgary.... 'bte' does have volume on those days just as you've mentioned... the meta will not auto correct the missing days data ..... for large gaps like your experincing , it might be best to use the downloader to delete the data and then redownload....

you can use the data test function, also in the downloader, to highlight other errors for correction.....

i never test the data but ever so often will completely delete everything and redownload from scratch.... h

Thanks for the help but it still doesn't work. The security 'BTE' on the NYSE first started trading on 10/10/2003 and the zero volume issue starts there now and now extends to 6/21/2005. I have no idea what is going on but this is the first time in more than 3 years that I have started experiencing problems with data.

I guess I'll have to send an email directly to the support desk.

Thanks,

Calgary
