I believe the problem is your First Date. This controls how much history you are able to collect. You will need to click Tools>Adjust>First Date, browse to your data folder, select all the securities and then adjust the first date to the date you would like to collect back to.
After doing this, try downloading again.

Hi,
thanks a lot!
Tools>Adjust>First Date
or New Security dialogue First Date
This is working but...
I have a second question: How far should i be able to go back with a subscription like this:
MetaStock Monthly Subscription (MetaStock with European Data End-of-Day)
It looks that i can only go back to the end of 2004 like, oct. nov. 2004
But sporadic a got data for a contract like dec. 1997 or march 1997 but no data for example for:
dec 2004, sept 2004, march 2004, etc.

I believe our international data goes back approximately 10 years. However, the default Load Options in MetaStock is to only load 500 records, which is about 2 years of daily data. In MetaStock:
-Click File>Open>Options>Load Options
Increase this number from 500 to however far back you'd like to see the data.

Thanks again for the two very important points! Now i get more periods.
But look at my 2 screenshots of the collection report and (for example) Bund-Bobl-Future-Chart.
Bund Future should go back to 1991
Bobl Future should go back to 1992
Reuters DataLink result: ?
Bund Future back to 1997
Bobl Future back to 2003

hey twinx...... Bund Future should go back to 1991 , Bobl Future should go back to 1992,
data suppliers will vary on the amount of historical data supplied.... using futuresouce as a should go back to reference for reuters , might be missleading....
it appears your downloader settings are correct..... reuters historical data for that symbol might not go back to 91/92....
futuresource is fixin to switch to esginal as a data feed so its historical charts might gain/loose days in the near future......h

Hi,
ok now i have this step.
Last question to this theme:
How can i inform me about the historical data range for future contracts of reuters-subscriptions?
Is there a list or something where i can look the historical data range for a symbol? Before i do a subscription!
Are the daily DATA the same wether i have a Reuters DataLink EOD or QouteCenter realtime subscriptions?
This are importend points to be a satisfied customer. I think
reuters/equis could give a little bit more information about this on
the website. https://www.metastock.com/products/data/
Information like this are not so informative:
Reuters DataLink™
Overview
For traders who use end-of-day data, Reuters DataLink is the #1
choice for a reliable and robust data feed. The benefits of this
service are numerous.
Reuters DataLink has unbeatable depth and breadth of data. Our data
spans the globe, so whatever region you prefer to trade—from North
America to Europe to Asia, we have it.
for a list of covered exchanges. Regarding data history, North American
coverage begins in 1980 for equities, indices, & mutual funds and
in 1973 for futures. International data goes back at least 5 years.
The last sentence is (the way) but, what is it mean in the practical experience?
I hope that my commenst can help.
Thanks again.

There is no list of futures date ranges. Specific contracts are held for 90 days past expiration then removed from our database and you can no longer obtain the data from the server. Continuous contracts have the ability to go back to 1973 but this will not necessarily be true for all futures. However, you can set your first date for all continuous contracts to 1973, and if the data does not go back that far the first date will auto-adjust to the true first date of data.
