Hello
I'm new to metastock (just got it a few days ago) and i'm very much impressed
with it's capabilities.
I was wondering if there is any way to efficiently create watchlists in metastock.
For example: I've run an exploration and got several symbols which i saved as chart in some folder.
Now is there any efficient way to keep track on those symbols besides opening each one of them?
(i thought to use Prev/Next buttons but these work only for SmartCharts)
Thanks
Rafael

Three ways you can do this:
1. From the RESULTS tab of an exploration, there is a "Save List" button. This will bring up a dialog, where you can click "New Folder", give it a name, and save the list.
HOWEVER: You should know that this is NOT a normal file system folder; it is a special list kept in the C:\EQUIS\METASTOCK\FAVORITES.DTA file, that "looks" like a normal folder.
Personally, I have had VERY bad luck with this -- if/when it gets corrupted (as seems to happen every few months, when least expected), there is NO FIX for it. Periodically, I make a copy of this file, but even that is no guarantee -- if it's already corrupted, tough stuff. I either keep a separate list in Excel or Notepad, if it's important enough to worry about, or use DOWNLOADER.
2. You can use DOWNLOADER to make a "real" folder, with data files. This will result in duplicate data, but the lists are in the native, Windows/DOS folder & file system, and will not get corrupted as FAVORITES.DTA does.
3. If the list is small (say, a half-dozen or so): Open all the charts, then create a "layout" and add the charts to the layout. (File -- New -- Layout, then File -- Edit Layout to change). When viewing all at once, you can turn off the window title bars and splitter bars from the "Properties" dialogs (main or inner window). You can expand the windows to full size either from the upper right window icon, or use the ALT-MINUS menu option to maximize, then use CTRL-TAB to flip through the screens.

Hello Johnathan
Thank you for your help
I liked the third option the most.
