Hi,
I am using MS 9.0 eSignal (using a local data feeder) and wonder how to DDE the one index (or stock) to an excel file to calculate realtime.... how can I do it?
I have tried to call the local data feeder, but their support is limitied and doesn't really know how to do it.
I am new to this. Could anyone teach me in more details? or any manual for that??
Gary

Hi Gary-
I don't believe that the data source matters. If MS is updating, you should be able to link it to Excel and get it to update there too. The built-in help feature covers this to some degree... I'm told to the same extent as what's in the user's manual. I uploaded a sample workbook to the files section a while ago. The links will have to be remade, because the macro paths are from my own machine. Other than that, you might try looking over some of these previous discussions:

Hi StorkBite,
I can develop the DDE link to an excel file, but would like to seek
your help for the following questions:-
1) In one of your example, you use {=QLink|Bars!'ndx.x,1,700,DTOHLCV'}
to write the 700 bars of 1-min data on a spreadsheet with Date, Time,
Open, High, Low. Close, Volume.
I try to do the same thing, {=eqddesrv|Bars!'H5'!,1,700,DTOHLCV'}
It didn't work
2) How can I include / add OpenInt on "DTOHLCV"??
3) The DDE link can not show the Open by =eqddesrv|'H5'!Open. I don't
know why? Well, it can show High, Low, Last.....
4) If I choose the option not to update the link when I open the excel file that has been previously linked with MS with DDE. How can I re-activate the link without re-opening the file again and choose to "update"?
