Reinstallation to eSignal-broadcast [RESOLVED]

I used to use MetaStock professional v9 OFFLINE mode to read EOD data & charts. Recently, I joined a RT provider plan. But how can I reinstall the MetaStock to "eSignal-Broadcast" version. I tried several time, but it jumps over the process.

To clarify, did you choose "No Realtime Vendor" during the installation of MetaStock or did you simply open MetaStock in Offline Mode? If you chose "No Realtime Vendor" then reinstalling MetaStock Pro for eSignal should prompt you select a real-time vendor again. If not, you may want to try uninstalling first, then reinstalling.
If you are simply stuck in offline mode, you should be able to click on Tools>Options and click on the Realtime tab, and make sure there are checkmarks next to "Enable Realtime" and "Enable Live Bars". You will have to restart MetaStock after making these changes.

hi Pyradius,
one side question, can we open realtime MS and MS Offline Mode at the same time?.... sometimes, I would like to backtest / back tracking while realtime data is updating.....

Hi Pyradius,
Yes, I did choose "No Realtime Vendor" during the installation of MetaStock and I used to use Offline mode. However, I click START>PROGRAMMES>EQUISE INTERNATIONAL>METASTOCK PROFESSIONAL to open the realtime mode but it cannot work. The symbols of "MetaStock File Server" and "Equise Data Server" show up and then nothing happens.
I uninstalled it and even deleted all relevant folders as well as files in REGEDIT before I reinstall it again. The installation widzard jumps over the processes and directly install itself without asking my preferrence.
If I reinstall the version 8 of MetaStock. It functions well and received RT data in good condition. However, I cannot import all the Experts of verion 9?
Can U help ?

Hello.
I decide to send you this Message because of the Troubles that you have!
I want to note that i have Metastock 9.1 Pro for E-Signal.
But i use that Program in the Offline Version like you, until a little days ago!
My Data Provider in the End of Day Data that i receive into my Metastock, is Reutersdatalink Service.
But the last Days i had decide to make a Trial to the Online E-Signal Service with my Metastock!
So, before make that, i make some moves.
The basic Move was to send E-Mail to Equis Support for to ask specific Questions about that Procedure.
Also i make a Phone Call there, for to ask too.
My basic Question was if the Explorations, the Formulas and the Expert Advisors that had into the Offline Version of my loved Metastock, will be saved if i decided it to use the Online Version of Metastock Pro with E-Signal.
The first Step that need for to go from the Offline Metastock Pro for E-Signal to Online Metastock Pro for E-Signal,
is to have decide that you will make the move to make a Subscription to E-Signal or a Trial Subscription to E-Signal!
I say that, because for to work, the Online Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal need a USERNAME AND A PASSWORD FROM E-SIGNAL.
This Username and this Password, you need it, for to put it when you will make the Procedure,
unistall the Offline Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal that you have,
to install the Online Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal.
If you have not decide to make the Subscription to E-Signal or the Trial Subscription to E-Signal,
please do not make the Procedure to unistall the Offline Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal that you have, to install the Online Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal.
I suggest also to make a Copy of the Equis Folder that you have into your Hard Disc and Paste it, into another Folder with a different Name into your Current Hard Disc or in a different Hard Disc before make the Procedure to unistall the Offline Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal that you have, to install the Online Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal.
Also i believe that i am in the position to tell you and an E-Signal Representative that can help you with your Subscription to E-Signal.
That Person help me when make the Subscription to E-Signal and also is my E-Signal Representative!

Actually I have an account with a data provider in my own country. Of course I got my own login name, password as well as a small programme named :"MetaStock RT Antenna".
I don't quite catch of the installation procedure that U described. Basically, I have MetaStock professional version 9. When I click the installation wizard, it will start to install both RT and offline mode. In those old days, I just click the OFFLINE mode to read EOD data but now I wanna use the RT mode but it cannot make a connection to my online vendor. The problem is that I cannot go back to the installation step that asked me to choose "eSIGNAL-Broadcast" .

The Metastock Installation is quite simple.
In your last post, i understand your Condition, like, to have make Installation or to try to make Installation with the Online Version of Metastock Pro for E-Signal.
It is not possible to make the Installation to Online Version Metastock Pro for E-Signal, without to put when you make the Installation the USERNAME and the PASWORD from E-Signal.
Now, you said that, you have also a Local Country Data Vendor for to receive Data.
In that Case maybe need special Instructions from Equis Support.
So, i suggest to contact there.
You can make that with several Ways.
If you like, try to send an E-Mail to support@equis.com that you will describe all of your problem.
I am thinking seriously that you need special Instructions.
Please try to contact and to do not make things alone, in your Computer Machine, without to have the knowledge for what you are doing.
I say that because exist a chance to make damage to your Metastock Files.

A quick word about email addresses:
Although it's great to see people helping people, and if the Forum Member cannot help their peer directly, giving the name and email of someone who can help, it is probably best NOT to advertise the individual's email address in the open forum.
Spammers have tools that trawl through Forums like our to collect email addresses etc, so its better that we use the PM feature to pass this sort of sensitive information. Email addresses that are already openly advertised such as support(at)equis.com are probably OK to show in the forum, but I think we should make an effort to keep our friend's and peer's email addresses private and out of the hands of the spammers.
Another point might be, we have over 5000 members. One or two people emailing the individual might be OK, but what would happen if everybody needed help on the same subject and emailed the poor individual? That's why we discuss the problems in the open forum, so everyone with the same problem can benefit from the discussions and have their problems resolved.
I am sure Ray F. doesn't want 5000 new emails in his intray every day from the Forum members, and another 5000 from spammers! But we do thank Ray F for his support, and George K for finding him!

Absolutedly agree w/you. I sent an email to them but no reply. I think they are also very careful about Spammers :evil: .
Actually, I like to share opinions in forum rather than asking for EXPERT service. I BELIEVE IN STREET WISDOM :wink: .
Always, users have their special skills and knowledge and experience which experts may not think about and come across before.
By the end, my problem solved already by a STREET WISDOM USER.
