Hi, How does Downloader's DataOnDemand cache work. I have several SmartCharts and don't know if I should delete them or what. I created new Favorites by creatind symbol.sym lists and pasting them into Favorites. Don't know if DataOnDemand cache will clash with Favorites. Please advise. Thanks, Joe PS The Downloader manual does not even have "DataOnDemand Cache" in the index!

Dear Joe, I'm no expert, but I can tell you how I use the "Data on Demand Cache". First I create a template that has my indicators set up in it, as well as the chart style I like. Then I can go to the Reuters data base and type in the symbol(s) of any new stocks that I am interested in. They are brought up on a chart with all my indicators, and I can go through as many as I want. If I find 10 stocks that I then want to add to my favorites, or to local data, to be updated each day, I can add them quickly. To add them you go into the downloader and select copy, then change the folder by "browse" to bring up the "data on demand cache". All the stocks that you selected by typing symbols into reuters data base are stored there. Highlight the ones you want to add to your local data, or favorites, being sure to check the smart charts choice. Choose copy command. That will move the data over to your files that you update, and it will already be in the format you set up with all your indicators. Periodically it is a good idea to use the downloader "delete securities" function while you are in the data on demand cache to clean out all the charts that are residing there that you do not want anymore. I hope that helps. P. Wooton
