Can anyone tell me how to get Meatstock to recognise its data files. It could two days ago; it can't today I am running Meatastock 7.01 (blu[censored]) on Win 98SE (blu[censored] blu[censored]) I get EOD data from a third party. when I opened Metastock two days ago, I got a query box with a message something like "Did Metastock shut down abnormally last time?" I clicked "No" each time the question was asked then I got an error when I tried to open files. Norton Crashguard said it intercepted a crash. If I navigated through favorites or local data, I could get to the files, but they didn't show as equities and every time I tried to open them I got the Crashguard message I uninstalled and reinstalled Metastock a couple of times and on two different drives; with the same error each time. It seems to me that Metastock cannot recognise its own data files. The nearest the manual can help me is that it says an equity must be created in Downloader before it can be populated. That is not a lot of help, because I have 10 years of data sitting in thousands of existing files and I don't want to have to recreate them all - and then how wold I get the back data in? Any help greatly appreciated (PS. I tried a search of the forum to see if the question had been answered, but I could get a match and it didn't seen to be in FAQs)Can anyone tell me how to get Meatstock to recognise the data files.

Do you still receive the message about MetaStock being shut down abnormally last time? If so, try clicking Yes. If not, close MetaStock and perform a search (Start>Find>Files and Folders) and search your hard drive for ~MSFL.* Delete any files returned in the search results and try accessing your data again.
