Mr. Stockman,
Sometime ago I had tried to copy/ paste Equity Line into Excel and came across a curious behaviour:
The whole image of the chart was pasted into an Excel cell. I could paste values of other indicators into excel, however could not succeed in pasting Equity Line values. I had taken caution that I did not right click in an empty area of the chart, Equity line was selected before copying, but no success.
Have you been successful in copy pasting the Equity Line?
Regards,
SMG
PS : MS version being used 9.1 Pro

Hey SMG-
This is a bit stealthy, but once you do it, it's no problem.
1. Run the Syetem Tester
2. Plot the Equit Curve on the chart
3. Create a custom indicator (you name it) and the only code that goes in the formula box is INDICATOR
4. Plot the custom indicator on top of the Equity Curve (make sure it highlights into the magenta color)
5. Right-click the Equity Curve and you should see a choice to select the Equity Curve or your new indicator. Select the new indicator.
6. Right click and select copy and then you can paste the values into Excel or wherever.

Mr. Stockman,
Thanks for the workaround. It really works.
Incidentally, there can be two suggestions in regard to the Equity Line plot:
1. It will be nice to be able to copy-paste Equity directly as in case of other indicators.
2. The Equity Line Properties dialogue may also have a tab for "Horizontal Lines" - by default a line may be there for Initial Equity. And the user may be able to add/delete more Horizontal Lines. Right now, we have to add Horizontal lines from Line Studies.

SMG

You're welcome. I will add your suggestions to the wishlist... or you can. In the mean time, try adding the horizontal line to your custom indicator. Something like this:
INDICATOR;
0
Substitute whatever number you want for the level of your horizontal line.

Mr. Stockman,
Thanks again for your suggestions. Your original sugestion to capture the Equity Curve Values with the help of INDICATOR Function helped in plotting Initial Equity also by:
valuewhen(1,cum(1)=1,INDICATOR);
INDICATOR;

You might also want to consider using the Trade Equity indicators to plot an equity line. Then there's no need to access the System Tester (or Enhanced System) to create a curve for any security, and no difficulty transferring the resulting curve to Excel. You can also plot a number of other signals besides equity if you want to.

Thanks Roy,
That will certainly be a wonderful option to explore. There are lots of files in the Files section of your group, it will keep me busy for a while. I understand you are coming out soon with updated User Guide for the utility. That should make it even better. I will look forward to it.
Regards
