Hi, Iam new to metastock related stuff since my company decided to get their data from Reuters. I need to put the metastock data into a mysql database because the rest of our environment is completely SQL based. Actually I use TheDownloader to get the data from Reuters. Then converting it to ASCII and loading it into the mysql database using perl scripts. Allthough it doesnt works bad I got some questions. 1. Is there a unix/linux client to download the Data from Reuters directly? 2. Is there a (linux) tool to put the downloaded metastock data direcly into SQL database without going through ASCII before? 3. Ive read about the MSX-dlls, are these libs also available for linux? 4. Maybe there are perl modules or something similar to use metastock platform independent? cu, Rudi

1) No, Windows only. 2) Not sure, but they data would have had to come from a Windows machine. 3) No. They are Win32 DLLs. 4) No, Windows only.

Hm, this is IMO very poor. Is Reuters/equis a Microsoft company? Maybe a forum moderator could move my list above to the wishlist corner. Does somebody know weather the tool ms2asc from http://www.geocities.com/mimansoor/ works 100% stable?

thx :) maybe its not so much work just to offer a no_gui command line tool for downloading Reuters data and one for simply querying the local metastock database (ASCII/csv output) would be nice! greetings from Berlin, Rudi
