i thought of a way to use system tester formulars as "explorers" to scan through all the stocks and trigger signals - make sure your data's updated to latest day - go system tester to choose all the systems u want - set the date to "use data price from the last 1 or 2 period, this means that the sytem tester will only scan through the last 1 or 2 days - go to broker fee and set points per execution to insanely high like 10000 points so when you run the system, which ever system that gave you -10000 profit means that a buy/short signal has been triggered tell me what u think guys

The system tester just tells you that your strategy is a profitable risk or not! If you run a system test for the last 1000 bars loaded today ,and then run the same system test tommorow, you will get different results The explorer tells you which securities have just given a signal! The expert advisor when attached to a chart, will show the system's signals on the chart

ok, the problem with the expert advisor is that i got to individually attach the advisor onto the charts, i cannot scan them in 1 swoop. wastes a lot of time.how do i scan many stocks whether a buy/sell signal will be triggered tomorrow? furthermore, i do not have the explorer function and it's a blackbox system ,any work around for that?? also what if i only have the formular for the system tester, not the advisor, how do i scan many stocks whether a buy/sell signal will be triggered tomorrow?

Sounds like, yet another instance, where the MS USers Manual will come in handy! I do not think you have a grasp on the concepts of the key functions in MS: [list:62c8572899] [*:62c8572899]charting [*:62c8572899]Expert Advisors [*:62c8572899]Explorations [*:62c8572899]System Testing[/list:u:62c8572899] Each of these is given in extreme detail in the MS Users Manual. Please read it.

If its black box, how can you have the code? Please post any code you have when you have a query, it will help others provide you with meaningful answers. If it is a true black box, and you want to break it open, this is ALMOST impossible without a lot of effort. Sometimes it is worth it, sometimes it is not. Hope this helps. wabbit :D

Hanho, you have to use the Fml("Blackbox") function to use in the explorer. What is the name of the black box system?

Well then, just post the Advisor code and we can show you how to convert that. Really, if it's blackbox, what is all the cloak and dagger for?
