New to MS, not sure whats going on but sometimes all my charts condense to a very narrow line where the highs and lows are very close together. I have tried adjusting the y axis but it makes it worse. I've then had to reinstall software and data to try to get back to normal viewing, any ideas what happening? Cheers Kingz

hey king.... are we talkin about real time or just local end of day data.... if real time, check to make sure the periodicty is not set to tick...... it would help to know what version of meta, data supplier and does it do it on all time frames, daily, weekly, monthly and so on......... after reinstalling did everything work.... if you click the "apply clean template" on the bottom tool bar does that chart work..... if so, perhaps your default template is the culprit.... there are indicators that if applied to the price chart itself, meaning not in its own window, will squish the price bars flat...... holler back....h

Hey K- Welcome to the forum! Have you tried right-clicking on the vertical axis and select 'Rescale Y-axis"? Also, right-click the vertical axis and select "Y-axis properties' and make sure that the AUTO boxes are all checked.

Thanks for the welcome. Am using end of day data with MS Personal. I have just encountered the problem and think it has something to do with the X axis. It doesnt happend with every chart, but is e.g. messing up cocoa - when I slide date bar at bottom (x axis?) and adjust the amount of data it displays properly although it wont let me view themost recent months / daily prices as it reverts to the narrow line. When I click zoom reset it goes narrow. Weekly views are fine in any event. What are the auto boxes? Cheers Kingz

Kingz, some of your data may have zero (or unusual) bar values in it. This will produce the scaling problems that you are experiencing. You can find these rogue bars with a simple indicator: [code:1:f164e1fe6e]C<=0 [/code:1:f164e1fe6e] Once found, you can delete these bars by right-clicking on the zero-data bar, and edit (delete data row) through The Downloader. Unfortunately these faulty data bars may return if you data supplier doesn't have its act together. I use PremiumData as my data supplier, and in the rare occasion that I notice any problems with the data, they usually fix it in minutes. jose '-)
