Dear all,
New to Metastock, I would like to switch quickly, - preferable one or two clicks-, between the yearly data and a five years view (data are downloaded).
The default template with the indicator setup that I created, should be shown in both time windows.
Up to now I could only find the "manual" way, scrolling back to the early dates, but I suppose it could be done faster. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Karl

Hey Polar-
You can find more on this in the User's Manual, if you think it'll work for you...
You can add shortcuts to your own custom templates using the custom toolbar menu. Here's how to do it:
Make and save 2 templates- One for daily and one for monthly (or any other time frame). Save each template separately.
Next, right-click the toolbar menu (by default it is located in the bottom middle of the screen). Select CUSTOM TOOLBAR PROPERTIES, then NEW.
At the prompt, you will enter the path to your first template: e.g., "C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\MetaStock\\CHARTS\\_Daily.mwt". Then, NEXT | NEXT | FINISH. This will create a shortcut on your toolbar to that template.
Repeat for the second template: e.g., "C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\MetaStock\\CHARTS\\_Monthly.mwt".
Now, you can switch between templates with a single click. Doesn't get much easier than that.
HTH,
G

G., I will study the manual,....-)
I thought a kind of zoom function would exist in a way that you mark a certain time period in a long time window and the program would bring up the marked time frame including the indicators. And yes, I tried to find something like this in the manual. Did not think about creating more templates.
Thanks for the nice instruction.

Sorry, the template idea was as close as I could come to figuring out a solution. The User's Manual reference was just to supplement my super quick response. I'm sure I didn't cover all the facets of the custom tool bar.
Good luck,
G
