I am using a new laptop with Windows XP Home and wish to use Metastock 6.52 on it. I have installed the Metastock 6 program and it opens ok but when I go to open a chart the program shuts down. Windows XP will not let the 6.52 upgrade program run either. The question is, will 6.52 run with windows xp home and if so what do I have to do to make it work. Can anybody help. Many thanks. Alex.

Any version prior to 8.0 was not designed to run on Windows XP. This still was not a problem with Windows XP Service Pack 1. When Service Pack 2 was released, it seemed to limit a lot of functionality. You can work around some of the issues by doing the following: -Right click on your MetaStock shortcut and click Properties -Click the Compatibility tab -Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose Windows 2000 -Click Ok and try running the program again You can do the same thing to the shortcut for the DownLoader

Hey equisalex- You should call Equis Sales for an upgrade deal. There have been some outstanding prices lately... As far as Pyradius' suggestions... that sounds like gold. I'll get that added to the FAQ since it's addresses such a unique situation.
