Can anyone tell me how to get FXCM Price DDE Server to work with Metastock 9.0? I looked at the other post but I didn't see anything that would really help in this matter. Maybe I missed a post or two :( USERNAME: ddedemo PASSWORD: 63527211 URL: http://www.fxcorporate.com/Hosts.jsp TERMINAL: neptune You can download the DDE installation file at: http://www.fxcorporate.com/DDE/FXDDEInstall.exe It includes an excel file that is updated by the DDE Server but when I try to start my Metastock Professional its starts looking for an winros.exe file and it requires it to be running before I can start Metastock Pro. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hahaha I'll let you know if I can figure it out. Another question thou- Wasn't there a post on this forum some where about importing excel data into Metastock? I read the article in the user manual where you have to do a paste special and select the .csv file. My question is thou if you can't start metastock pro unless the data feed is running how can you hook it to your excel file? Starting metastock offline doesn't start the file server. #-o

Hey D- Not sure about what you are trying to achieve, but you do not need the data server to plot prices from MS into Excel. Open MS offline; pull up your chart and right-click on the price line. Select copy. Start Excel and a blank workbook. Right-click in an empty cell and select Paste Special and paste: csv. Then you can format to suit your taste.

Have you looked at available solutions for non-standard data vendors? Perhaps something like MetaServer RT? Avail: http://www.traderssoft.com/ts/msrt/

Patrick, I've tried to start it that why but with little luck its still locking for a live datafeed at start-up so you still have to have a feed going when you start it. The DDE server from FXCM doesn't work directly with metastock. So in order to get a feed into metastock I would need some kind of client application to connect to the FXCM DDE & then back over to Metastock DDE Server. #-o Wow I said alot :D G-Stock, No I haven't look at them for a solution, this is the first time I've ever heard of them. Thanks for the tip I'll let you know.

Patrick Please mark this post as resolved- The answer to the question was that G-Stock was correct- Can you please tell me if any of your software programs can connect to FXCM Price server DDE and transfer the quotes into Metastock Pro 9.0? Hello! MetaServer RT for DDE will work. Note, you have to have special FXCM subscription to use their DDE feature. Best regards, Andrew Nazarov RT Soft Ltd. Note- FXCM uses esignal for their forex data feed so you can save a little money on forex data by using the MetaServer RT in the long run. :D Thanks for the help G-Stock & Patrick
