My friend sent me a folder containing *.MWC files. When I try to open it by (MetaStock Professional Offline Mode), I get a message "The folder containing this SmartChart's data no longer exsists or is not accessible." My friend & I using the same Data but store in different path. How can I solve the problem?

You need to get his data folders to and copy them in the same exact location as he does on his hard drive ... Patrick

hey chan..... when you mention store in different path just how different are we talking about.... if its just a slight name difference but with the overall folder setup being the same, it would be a simple matter to setup a path up like his.... might be worthwhile, if possible, for 1 of you to adopt the others folder scheme..... .MWC files should be just a bare bones chart.... if thats the case can he just send the tickers.... most often people send sharp charts, .mws, would include indicators and such is usually sent as a .bmp via email .... if you use the meta send command thats how it will attempt to send...... the large file should include everything needed to open itself.... there are several other methods to send charts , the one method that might be best to avoid is sending "scrap.shs"..... actually it works perfectly, the only drawback is it will always lock other programs/applications to metastock..... h

Just a follow up The .MWC files are not the actual data but reference the data. The .MWC Store the information that is applied to the security when opened. As Patrick Mentioned the data would have to be in the same location on both computer if you send MWC files. Doc
