I believe I found the problem that caused the dll not to be recognized. If you were having problems in the past, go to the download section and download the new forum.dll file. Patrick

Excuse my question, I have no idea where to start. What does Forum.dll do?

There is a manual for forumdll here. Search the forum for forumdll and you will see some more Q&A about dll's in general. Basically the forumdll provides a way to externally call functions that MetaStock can use.

Noticed the file has a proper name now in the download section. Downloaded and renamed it Forum.dll and then tried Forumdll.dll. Neither one is recognized by my MS 9.0. Any suggestions?

Sorry I really can't help right now, the problem is ( I believe I'm not sure) with the MSFL declarations used by the custom index function ... Maybe I should Upload a version of the DLL without the custom index that would work with any version of MetaStock ... Would that help you guys out for now until I have more time to dedicate to the Forum and the Forum.dll ? Patrick

Alvan, if you are willing, could you try this for me: 1) Go to this page http://www.paritech.com/support/metastock/msfl.asps 98 or ME user, save the file in your C:\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM folder 1 If you are a Windows NT or 2000 user, save the file in your C:\\WINNT\\SYSTEM32 folder 1 If you are a Windows XP user, save the file in your C:\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32 folder Now Restart your PC, start MetaStock ... is the dll recognized? Patrick, Thanks for the effort. No go. It makes no difference. The forum90.dll is not recognized. My old forum dll is recognized no matter what I call it. It has to be something in the code of the new dll. I am sure you will resolve it.
