Anybody know how one can get Metastock to place trades with FXCM (from within Metastock's functionality of trading - not some 3rd party toold) :?:

I don't think that is possible. We do have a little interface window with InterbankFX (inside Pro FX) and I know there is one in the works for COES (I think...) but don't think there is anything with FXCM...
Sorry.. M

andreasrothe,
FXCM is currently in the final stages of working on a COM interface for developers. I would suggest you get the Dev Kit thats being offered right now by Metastock. That way you can design your own system and need be at the hands of some other developer.
There are a few 3rd party appilcation thou that have had some success but the bad things is when FXCM makes a change or update you'll be kick out. Trade-This was the only appication that came close to a totally metastock API but the developer has fall very sick and decided to shut the API updates down. I'm not sure if you can still get a copy or not now.
I think equis should give the guy a call and get his API it did work really well. It work right off the alerts from metastock and palced your orders.

Marilyn,
I might have failed to mention that the guy is hard to get ahold of because of his health but he was tring to sell the soucre code to a developer that would continue on with his work. He offered two API that did come very close in the end to what a true API should be but again he was only one guy and his health was failing. Try and read about DynaOrder & Trade-This I can't say enough good things about the guy. He is one developer that did work very hard to make metastock better and push it fwd. I work with him thru emails personally for a time so I know what things he with thru. (I have never met him face to face just thru emails).
Dynaorder was his multi version broker API that supported a ton of different brokers & also other trading software packages thru email accounts. By far it came along ways from its earlier version. I think hyperorder was develop off of seeing his Dynaorder platiform. But he won over a ton of metastock users to Dynaorder and so he develop a totally metastock API trading platform called Trade-this.
Trade-This was his version develop for the metastock trading platform only. Currently the last version he had out support FXCM & GFT Forex brokers. But again he suggled to keep up with FXCM alway changing platform demands. The API again work off the alerts single from metastock and places orders to open or close position. No email account is needed or user interaction. You can trade it manually or automatic I'm sure if metastock can purchase the souce code off the guy the metastock FX sell would go thru the roof.
Anyway I hope my 2 cents has help metastock to at least take a look at the API it would be worth a phone.

To everyone:
The developer of Trade-this (DB) has fall sick and is no longer selling his software to the public. I worked with DB to help him work out some of his buggs on Trade-This so I know what the software can do. Again its up to equis-metastock to purchase the souce code now from DB. DB never answers email anymore because again he is sick.
Trade-this
had built in feature for trailing stops, Hard stops & profit target placed at the brokers autpmatically and a trade time schdule. It had a very bright future for Metastock traders & the right company. DB was only one man and he couldn't keep up with demand but he did built a very nice API that was winning over alot of Traders.
