Hi Grant... err... Plato!
Welcome to forum!
I'd be glad to help out in any way that I can. I have a particular interest in QuoteCenter, but like chasing down a variety of other questions that come up here on the forum too. As a non-professional trader, I think of all kinds of things that I'd like to know more about. In that sense, I am a pretty good ideas generator. Just let me know!

Hi Plato,
It is very nice to know that there is a designated person from Metastock to hear the users' wishlist. Is it possible to post a summary of the wishlist posted here so far by category and show the amount of interest in each item. Showing what is already submitted before will avoid future duplicated requests; and will save you effort in receiving and reading same requests over and over again. For users who find items in the summary important to them may submit their vote to show their interest.

And this is the other one!
My focus is on the documentation and electronic help, so any suggestions for improvement or "needs to be fixed" in the documents or help should come my way. (Believe me, Grant Robertson (AKA "Plato") has more than enough work on his plate without having to cover my area as well. 8) )
Grant also sits in an adjacent cube to mine here in the Equis offices, so we *do* communicate.
Cheers!

Hey Grant2- or is that Grant, Jr.... LOL!
Welcome to the forum! Gosh, there's been quite the influx of Equis folks here lately. That's super. I hope you will find the forum a good place to share ideas. Surely, you will have some members interested in documentation, since related questions come up all of the time. Do you focus on a documentation for a particular product? In particular, QuoteCenter needs some serious work in this area. The quick reference guide is good, but brief. Also, I'd like to see more programming samples included in the MDK user's guide. even though there are more real samples on the program disk.
IMO, the MetaStock user's manuals are outstanding. Keep up the good work. There might be some way to integrate the contents of the Formula Primer in with the user's manual... or not. I'm thinking that it might be better to start a whole new publication with a name such as Formula Reference Guide and start with the primer material and build on those concepts with more advanced examples. There has been quite a few members asking for more, more, more... You know, when it's good, you can't get enough!
Again, welcome!

... but does throwing erasers over the top of the cubicle divider count? (commonly called desktop Battleship - you sunk my stapler, you sunk my monitor, you sunk that submission that is due in five minutes etc)

Heh! I have seniority! <Big Grin>
Since I started here (about 18 mo ago) I basically document everything that comes out of Equis as a product.
I was able to get some tweaks into 9.1 (improved help, a better index in the Pro manual for example), and am working on the End of Day manual now.
I also did the FXTA plugin manual, and a lot of work for the Institutional version of our software.
QuoteCenter is the major exception at the moment, as that was being branded as a "Reuters" item.
(I agree that the written support provided for it is thin -- much thinner than (IMHO) it should be.)
Thanks for your ideas.
We are already thinking about a number of improvements along the same lines as you propose, such as
[list:2cf6aa2c48]- separating out the "Reference" material from the "Version/Use" material in the user guides, so that there would be two manuals
- providing more contextual information for analyses (example: Why would I use a RSI rather than a Stochastic? What is a "Ease Of Movement" good for?, etc.)
- improving the richness of the analyses explanations (adding explicit formulas, parameters, etc.) [/list:u:2cf6aa2c48] The MDK is also *WAY* overdue for a refurbishment. :)
There is no firm timeline for these changes, and there are always new features being added to the "want" list, so I cannot promise that they will happen for any particular release, but change is happening, and will continue to do so.
Grant
PS: I'm not perfect, so typos will happen.

<SNORK!> I'd forgotten all about that "game".
Usually it's more "what do you think about....?"
Cheers!
