How many systems are you testing at once?

The same thing happens to me. Most recently I tested one system on 600 stocks. Is this overly ambitious?

Is your system Optimized? try testing on the Dow 30?I think that there is a limit to the amount of system tests that metastock can perform at once, somewhere around 30000

Is your system Optimized where a test can have say 1000 possible variations? Times 600 stock to test against? Equals 600000 test, which should burn out your computer

No.As I have stated on my previous reply I chose only 6 charts to scan and the tests were randomly chosen original Equis tests of the software. I did not have any problems with Version 8. This version killed all my self composed explorations and tests also.

ddinc, Do you have any more details on the error message? I really do not recognize the one you posted ... Ultimately you check for ~MSFL files and maybe do a database cleanup ... Let me know if you have more details. Patrick

Click on tools, enhanced system tester, options, clean noew. Select everything and click on clean ... I'm assumimng the ST_DATA.MDB is corrupted but before we trash it, let's see if the clean up will take care of it. Patrick

If the cleaning procedure doesn't work, I suppose you could try to repair the database file manually... before deleting it. From the Access main menu: TOOLS | DATABASE UTILITIES | COMPACT & REPAIR.

Sorry but my suggestion is then to rename the ST_DATA.MDB file to OLD_ST_DATA.MDB and the reinstall metastock ... Patrick

Thank you very much for your effort After reinstall it seems to be OK. BUT: It took 2.5 min to complete 1 % of Equis Moving Average Crossovers Test(standard as it comes with the software) That is 2 hours to complete ??! I did not have any problems with Vers. 8 (Pent 4,^GB,512 Ram) ??
