Hi: MS 9.0 EOD Ed. I have a stock whose symbol has changed. But try what I may, it always shows up the old symbol in the chart and I'm unable to find the new SYMBOL in any of my symbols. Do we need to add a new symbol if a stock's symbol has changed? If yes, can someone guide me? Thanks!

Hello. You are speaking without to have research well the things about that... Equis had already fix that, thing without to need to spend Hours and Hours from your Side, for the New IPO's Symbols. How? From Period to Period(Little Time Pass between the Periods) Equis create for all of us Upgrade for the Downloader Symbol Files, in the Symbol Lookup Files Sector of Equis. https://www.metastock.co...rt/Download/Symbols.aspx What it means that? Mean that you can download the Update Symbol Files with the most current. After that, you can store it into your Downloader. After that simply makes the following: 1) Delete all the Old Data Folders and create again your Folders from the beginning and you can download after that automatically all the Stocks plus the New Stocks from the IPO'S until the Day that make Equis the Upgrade in their Symbol Files. Maybe you do not want to delete your Data Folders and to create New Ones. No Problem! You go in a Site that have the most recent Stocks after their IPO traded in the Stock Markets, and create each File of a Stock into the Downloader and then the System makes the Work for you! So Simple! Maybe you do not know where is the most recent IPO Stocks that is now in the Stock Market. What you are trying to explain me? How to do something what I am doing for years? :? I don't want to delete existing folders and create new one! My data folders contains data from 1980's and I don' want to download 600 MB again. In data folders there are Smart Charts too. That's my work which I don't want to destroy with a single click. :evil: Your second solution to this problem, to add manually one by one security to the existing folders is exactly what I am doing for years and it's time consuming, specially if you have to add more than 100 IPO's for last few months. Maybe for you is the game to play with MetaStock, but for me is certainly not. I am using MetaStock to make the money on the market and I want it to be as simple as possible. Why you are downloading symbol database manualy from web site if you can do it from Downloader? What is bothering me is that Downloader is not checking if we have latest symbol file on the computer before downloading the file from the server. After new symbol file is installed on the computer, it would be nice if we could add all new IPO's with a single click instead spending hours to do it manually. For your info, I know very well where I can find any information I am interested in. :)
