Hi Patrick, Hi forum friends,
I will start to post the patterns in this thread:
For anyone who would like to give it a try to make a Metastock formula for it or if you know that there is one:
I will be posting:
* Pattern Name.
* What is the meaning of it.
* What to do.
Bullish Kicking Pattern
3--- Takehiro Hikita--- H
This patteren signals a bottom.
What to do? Enter Long if next candle has a higher high.
(See photo, I am compacting the photos to take as much less space as possible, this is one is just a few hundred bytes)

How to Identify it
*The first day is a Black Marubuzo (opens at high and closes at low) day
*The second day is a White Marubuzo (opens at low and closes at high) day that gaps upward
What it Means
This pattern is a strong sign that the market is headed upward. With this indicator, the previous market direction is not as important as with other indicators.
If this is how it’s defined it’s very restricted because the open and close must be at the extremes.
I got this off a Google search and there may be a different definition.

As defined here: http://hotcandlestick.co...ry/Bullish%20Kicking.htm
Try this:
---8<---------------------------
{BlackMaubozu}
BM:=(O>C AND H=O AND C=L);
{WhiteMaubozu}
WM:=(C>O AND H=C AND O=L);
{Bullish Kicking Pattern}
(Ref(BM,-1)=1) AND (WM=1) AND O>Ref(H,-1)
---8<---------------------------

Hi,
Thanks Active Trader, but it did not work on the chart.
To Konrad
Actually, if you are interested in Candle Sticks you can check the sugessted readings from the Help files of Metastock:
Achelis, Steven B. Technical Analysis from A to Z. Chicago, IL: Probus Publishing Company, 1995.
What I am trying to do here is to find fromulas in Metastock that can detect Candle Patterns other the 38 found in Metastock as well as the patterns in the current add on, or plug ins.
I wrote that in the wish list and Patrick sugested that I would post it here and see if someone can come up with the code.
Would make a great add on for Metastock users.
If I find that the members are interested I will post the pattern as they occur on my charts. (I do not have a list of the patterns)
I have a special program that detects more than 1300 charts patterns, I just use for this purpose and then back to Metastock and I :evil: switching back and forth.

Bulli,
What is the software you are using to detect the 1300 different candlestick patterns?
Often, the codes within one program can be exported/output/filtered/stolen into another application, with the aid of some other programs. This might be very possible in this instance?
On another note, what is the use of trawling through a list of pattern indicators?
There is a mathematical theoretical, but definate number of possible patterns in any number of bars.... In one bar there is a theoretical maximum of 24 possible patterns (note: highly theoretical - the actual number is about 18? its late and I have had some glasses of red wine!) In two bars there are 24 x 24, in three bars there are 24 x 24 x 24 possible patterns.... etc
Most of these patterns are not tradable.... trying to find those that MIGHT be is the same as data mining. My thoughts on this have already been posted.

Hi Wabbit,
It is not 1300 candle patterns, 1300 Chart Patterns (inclduing candle patterns).
The program is Candlestick Forecaster Samurai, It cannot export the patterns nor it gives a list, they are shown as they occur.
I looked for that but I could not find any where in the program.
It is a well written program, I only take it as an indicator.
The use of looking at a list of indicators is only as a guide line, and no Data mining, curve fitting, etc. that does not help, I already wrote in my other posts, I do not do back testing what so ever, I only do forward testing with Real money.
Many of these are tradable YES, I am already using it and it works.
Of course not all of them, they serve as a guidline only within my trading system and rules.
Just for you to have an idea, I am only posting the ones that have tested results, this pattern, just done 5%+ on the stock I have seen this on.
You want to check yourself, see this chart at Yahoo ACES4.SA 01/10/2005

Bulli,
I noticed that you mentioned my old friend Takehiro Hikita in your post on Kicking. I talked to him about 3 years ago and he was very ill. Have you talked to him or know of this health?
Thanks,
Greg Morris

Hi Konrad,
Sure, http://www.highestsummit.com.my/
it is a company from Malaysia.
Hi greview,
Sorry, I do not know "Takehiro Hikita", it is the name the software gave for the pattern.
