Hey guys
I am switching over to metastock and currently have qucharts. through qcharts, I figured i had a quote.com data link since i was getting my data through them. So my qcharts username and password work on my quote.com metastock and it looks like I'm connected, but when I type in basic stock symbols (I have quote.com selected in the data part by the way) it says the symbol is invalid. "The Symbol 'IBM' is invalid" So is qcharts not the kind of quote.com subscription that works with metastock? Or am i Just making some kind of mistake that I can fix and get the data? Kind of confused. any help appreciated. bye

It's my old metastock v8. I tried the file that you directed me too and it still is not letting me open charts in metastock even though it says i am connected to quote.com. Not sure what the prob is. thanks for the help though.

Well...
Do you have a subscription version of MS or did you purchase the program? When was the last time you had it working? Are you having trouble with RT data or EOD data?
If you are trying to load EOD data and you own your MS program, you can try this:
FAQ wrote:Right-click on the MetaStock shortcut and select properties. In ‘target’ you will see:
'C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\MetaStock\\MsWin.exe'. Just add ‘/l/e’ at the end so that it looks like this: 'C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\MetaStock\\MsWin.exe' /l /e. Note: If you have a SUBSCRIPTION version of MetaStock this will not work.
Also, make sure that you are subscribing to the correct qcharts data package. You may receive invalid symbols on stocks symbols, for example, if you are only subscribed to commodities. Also verify that the symbol is in upper case (e.g. IBM, not ibm)
