Could somebody help please, every time I open a new chart there is all the bits and pieces of stuff that I've written on other charts (doodlings , support\\resistance lines, stuff I've experimented with and the like). It is very annoying to have clean up new charts every time even before I start. Also my smart charts always need re-figuring, every time. All the inner windows go back to some sort of default setting, but I like this window big, that window small. Again everytime I open MS I need to change them to the way I like to see them. Have I ticked a box somewhere that I shouldn't have?
Thanks in advance.
S1nbad.

S1nbad,
Open MetaStock, Open a chart.
Fix it, spend as much time as you need to make exactly the way you want your charts to be .
Then right click on it and select "save as default template"
It will ask " do you to replace the existing one"
Click on yes.
Now from now on just opne new charts ;)

hey s1nbad..... another thing you might look into would be in the lowest right hand corner is the 'choose security ' box..... take a peak in it and see if by chance you have the 'keep line studies' checked..... sounds like you do....
that tells meta to , well, keep the line studies... there is no better way to say it..... that might be causing confusion for you now, but later you'll be glad that option is possible....
the reason for bits and pieces is your moving to a charts of different price.... ie, a trend line on 'amgn' will not show up on 'lu', unless you rescale the 'y' axis..... lines drawn on oscillators such as stoch or rsi , those lines should print irregardless of charts......
btw, that was a good question, keep'em comin'....h

Hey h-
I'm dense. :| Lower right hand corner of what? I can't even find a reference to 'keep line studies' in the help file. My lines are OK, but I'm just trying to follow through with the tip on my end for future reference. :D

](*,) LOL!
You know, I pulled that up... honestly. I just didn't go to options. Crap...
Hey, you'll probably have server meltdown with all of the hits you'll get to the 'top secret' file.
Thanks!

Thanks Hayseed, that seems to have fixed it. And thanks to you as well Patrick but Ive been doing the "save template" option and it hasn't worked so it had to be something else. Back to the ASX which is hitting new highs every day!! :D :D
