How can I construct a custom formula to compare the last date in an index file such as the SPX against the last date in a stock file, to determine how many days it has been since the stock last traded? I want to do this to weed out (in an exploration) those ticker symbols that have gone inactive or companies that have disappeared. Sometime back a tech support person at Equis told me the only way to do it was through the use of the Developer's Toolkit. I am just curious to find out if there is another way. Thanks! Mike

It has already been done for you... See Richard Dale's excellent (and free) add in for date explorations here: http://www.tradernexus.com/nexusdate/ Hope this helps. wabbit :D

If anyone is interested in how to do it in the MSFL... just let me know. You dont need the MSDK but if you want to avoid the dreaded "P" function, you do need MS 7+ It is actually a good learning experience to code this function - but as Richard has taken the work load for us it is redundant. wabbit :D
