I would like assign tasks (or macros) to "F" keys. This would allow changing chart templates or price styles with a single key rather than multiple key strokes.

You can apply templates at the push of a button on the customisable custom toolbar.
You can also add application links to ,say, NotePad, which is really handy for editing formulas etc.
Check in the user manual.
