I'm trying to write a formula for the advance decline line using Meta Stock 13 Pro. I can find the data for NYSE advances but not for NYSE declines. Can anyone point me to the data for NYSE declines?

With Xenith/Eikon, the symbol is .AD.N and this actually contains all the various broad market data (advances, declines, highs, lows, volume, etc). Currently this an issue, because we can only change 1 field via right-click on the chart, and the MetaStock formula language Security function only works on the Default Field presently.

Ultimately we would like to expand the Security function to be able to call other data fields. Currently you can create a Composite Instrument in the Xenith / Eikon software. To do this, you open a blank chart in Eikon.

After you have a blank chart, right click in the chart and choose "Instrument Explorer". Click File-->New Composite. Give the Composite a code, such as NYSEAD and click Ok.

After that you can type in an Instrument in the Composite box, and then select the field you want (i.e. Advancing Issues), followed by the math operation you want (i.e. subtraction) followed by the symbol and field you want to subtract (i.e. Declining Issues). You can then call this composite into a Chart using the = sign followed by the composite name, i.e. : =NYSEAD
