Hi everyone!! I am used to downloading share prices and other share's information via Metastock, by using " The downloader" software. Recently, some of the ticker's companies that I download have changed. So, I've tried to update the names of these tickers through the button "update symbol database" (tools) but it doesn't work. Could you please help me ? What do i have to do to update the names of the tickers? Will the new information be stored in the same file, or in a new one?

I use an application called ML Downloader - is that the same one you use, or are you referring to something else?
ML Downloader symbol database update has been working fine for me, but I only update USA exchanges. It updates with new symbol names if necessary and updates the same files. Its operation is more confusing than it should be, but once I figured it out it works pretty well - have been using it about 5 years.
MLD is why I will never update to MetaStock 12; I like local data with a longer history than MS will provide.

Hi,
The DownLoader is no longer supported. It will continue to download prices from Reuters DataLink but the "Update Symbol Database" functionality no longer works.
