Variable"x" and a "Look Back Period"...Is this Possible?

If my indicator has a variable "x" , it is calculated today and applied to today's plotted data point only. Each new day, "x" is calculated and applied to the new day's plotted data point. In this example past plotted data points are never altered by the new value of "x".
What I want to do is to calculate today's "x" and apply it to both today's plotted data point and past plotted data points within a "look back period".
For example: Today I calculate "x" and use it in calculating & plotting both todays data point and the last 3 data points. All data points past the 3-day "look back period" would be left unaltered.
Thank's
Dennis
