Howdy to all!
I am trying to create a composite security using The Downloader, utilizing security data in two different folders, but have had no luck. I use Pinnacle Data EOD; the new version of the Pinnacle puts futures contracts that trade only a "regular trading hours" window into one folder, and those contracts that trade "extended trading hours" into another folder.
I want to create a composite security called "CRUDE OIL/US DOLLAR", using the Crude Oil contract divided by the US Dollar contract; however, when I choose CRUDE OIL as the primary security and then change folders for the US DOLLAR as the secondary security, the first folder and security is removed from the entry field. I cannot seem to find a workaround, other than to copy all the data files from one folder to another, which complicates the auto-download feature of Pinnacle.
Any guidance from the MS community is appreciated in advance.

1) work with locally downloaded data
2) copy the item in question to the other directory as well (create it as a duplicate).
for manipulting metastock data in all sorts of ways, please have a look at the tools from
http://www.trading-tools.com/
you can also use them to create your own indices or to copy single data files into a variety of directories.
Some of them are free (the copier), and most of them cost between 30-80 bucks.
