Hello !
I would like to build a Index from data of 5 stocks (A,B,C,D,E)
When 1 stocks offer new shares or pay the divedend by shares, we must adjust the price and volume to smooth the line . So, we must change the Index's formula .
ex: 1/1/2007 --3/7/2007: we use the one formula !
3/8/2007, A pays the divedend by shares, so we must adjust the price and volume. We must change the Index's formula .
HOW DO WE WRITE IT ?

I'm not sure to have understood what you mean. Is your first Index built adding the (close) value of the 5 stocks? Do you make any weighting?

sorry because my english is so bad !
I build the Index from the close value of the 5 stocks (have weighting) .
From 1/1/2007 to 7/1/2007, I split 3 periods , for each period , I use 1 syntax . So in 1 formula, I use 3 syntac for 3 periods ?
How can I do it ?
