Mornin all,
So I am just breaking into TA. And when I say just begining I mean that I got my metastock eod software(standalone) this week. But here is the deal. I don't have intentions on actually trading until a little further down the road when I ve gotten some time to learn the software and papertrade for a bit. I really don't think that paying X amount per month for reuters quotes is worthwhile when I am only paper trading. So I am looking for some free sources/software for quotes. The reliability doesn't have to be great for now. Anyone know of a few good programs that will pull EOD quotes from yahoo or from a different source?
I have hquote pro that seems to be functional but they charge a pretty penny to register it and get rid of the trial restrictions....so really, free would be better....
Cheers and thanks a bunch.
PS. And if any Metastock staff are reading this I would appreciate it if Paul sent me the data he promised....Thanks..

I tried Hquote Pro as well, but thought it was too confusing, so I tried ML Downloader and ended up buying the registration for about US$60 or so. I don't think you'll find a totally-free downloader that's worth much of anything, and MLD does the job pretty well.
I've also found, in the spot-checks I've done, that the Yahoo EOD historical quotes are pretty accurate so I'm in no hurry to pay big money for EOD data.
