Looking for a way to delay the calculation, or omit the first x periods from calculation for a moving average, for use when the stock trades very wide on it's first day(s) of trade. For example, AMP.ASX Any help, much appreciated. longshanks

Longshanks Is something like this what you are looking for? M:=Input("Moving average periods",1,99,10); N:=Input("Substitution periods",1,99,5); A:=LastValue(ValueWhen(1,Cum(1)=N,C)); D:=If(Cum(1)<N,A,C); {modified data array} Mov(D,M,S); Roy MetaStock Tips & Tools
