one counts on Metstock's claim that it will not let you close out something if it is not going to work. This does not happen if you make a type of typo or miscalculation with sum(,x), if you happen to slip and put a 0 or negative number in the place of the x. It will not allow plotting if you try to put that indicator with the bad sum function into a chart or exploration.
I wonder how many other things like that there are.

There are infinite opportunities for human introduction of errors into any process.
If all our errors were intercepted and corrected by software, then there wouldn't be much to learn from. ;)
