Hello,
I have MetaStock version 8.0, and in the section "Traders' Tips from TASC Magazine", the
system "Boosting Profitability - the AIM Indicator" needs to have the version 8.01 or later.
The formula uses the security data function. My question is to know if it's possible to have
the same work with the version 8.0, or how to have the version 8.01 (because i don't want
to buy a new Metastock for only the security data fonction).

Hey Patoche-
The formula primer has a warning that the security() function is only available in version 7.0 and above. R U sure it doesn't work in your version 8?

Before 8.01 the security function was only in MetaStock Pro. Since 8.01 the security function was placed in MetaStock Pro and EOD versions.
I am sorry but the AIM indicator can not be written for versions that do not have the security functions.

hey patoche..... while the aim indicator was written with the security function in mind, it can be rewritten without it..... the only negative would be that the rewritten indicator would not update in realtime..... and that might be a positive.....
just replace (Security("[color=red:4b4a157836]ONLINE:dell[/color]", Mo(x)>100))+ with (Security("[color=red:4b4a157836]C:\\MetaStock Data\\nasdaq100\\dell[/color]", Mo(x)>100))+, or what ever your folder paths look like......
perhaps the move from 8.0 to 8.01 would be just a free patch type upgrade with a couple freebie, online(), functions included.... equis might still have the patch laying around.....
speakin of free, the upgrade to 9.01 might be also......h
