To the members of this forum, I would like to take this moment to thank Marilyn & Patrick for giving me an open forum to express my views on trading. I remember when I first started out with Metastock and the difficulties I encountered. Using just the IBD to get my trades, and becoming more dissatisfied with the draw downs and loss of profits from winning trades before I closed the trade, I knew that Metastock would help. Once I opened the box and started to read the manual, I was overwhelmed by this software. I even paid Jon DeBry to code a simple Stochastic Crossover. After receiving the code, I couldn’t believe that I had just dumped good money for a simple line of code. I vowed never again! I scoured the internet for forums and sites, anything about Metastock. I read experts and other formulae from the software. The user manual would always be next to the PC. I sought out forums where I could exchange ideas with other traders. As the free flow of knowledge progressed, my ability to code increased. Over 60 trading books later, I was looking for traders that I could exchange ideas and code. I hoped that they would give constructive criticism and not petty complaints. What became of these forums? Some closed, others died off. The recurring topics that eventually kill off the flow of ideas are: members who keep harping on how to use free data with Metastock, spam , members who boast ridiculous profits. The recurring topics that encourage growth are: Technical Analysis Ideas, Metastock Questions? How do you implement the Gann Grid? That’s what I’m LOOKING FOR! New Ideas, do you have any? What is the response that I have been getting back? If you read the forum, you can see it for yourself! When this forum started, there were new users, who like me at first, could not code a simple line of code. I came along and lit a fire. I started to code experts and indicators. Hopefully the members have learned from them. Now the responses that I have been getting back are telling me that it is time for me to retire and to let you go back to rubbing two sticks together! Henry1224 PS. The Metastoc[censored]er forum has died and put to rest

What about you, Henry - do you have any fresh ideas that you could contribute yourself? Perhaps I haven't looked well enough, but I've yet to see anything other than variations of the same tired old code in your posts.

Henry, please don't delude yourself. Your innumerable & repetitious code posts are bordering on being considered spam. Posting countless variations of the same theme doesn't really help the knowledge pool - it just dilutes and confuses it. Quality, not quantity.

I haven't seen any posts asking for your retirement, but let me assure you that the MetaStock community will not revert back to the Stone Age, and will survive and continue moving forward after either your retirement or mine.

The contents of that repository of knowledge was your responsibility, but ownership was not. A very irresponsible and selfish action indeed. jose '-)
