Died from old age and clogged arteries! Cremated the old bugger and will spread his ashes out on a golf course!

Perhaps the right action would have been to pass the Metastoc[censored]ers usergroup's management to somebody else, as for example, with the Equismetastock group (from Sjellad to Preston). Alternatively, a week's warning notice for group members to migrate over here would have been valuable. Although valuable Metastoc[censored]ers posts will survive in http://www.purebytes.com/archives/metastock , this e[censored]ode reminds me of the StockCentral saga, where the forum's owner confused ownership of the structure (forum) for ownership of the valuable public-owned information within - all lost when he pulled the plug without warning. jose '-)

I don't know, Konrad - but I'm sure glad someone is saving potentially useful information that would otherwise surely be lost, no thanks to the carelessness of unnamed people that should know better. A forum (such as this excellent meeting place) is not dissimilar to any other public structure where people contribute to & invest their own valuable resources - personal time and knowledge. Banks or managed funds are examples of such public-investment structures. Imagine an investment bank where many clients were kind enough to trust and invest funds in it. It would only occur to a delusional bank owner, that ownership of the bank would also include its clients' funds. If this self-centered bank owner with little regard for others, were then to close his bank and keep (or destroy) all of its clients' capital, there would be some legal issues involved to say the least. In an age where information is just as valuable as $, there should be some understanding in place that no one has the right to destroy public information, regardless of any personal circumstances. Keepers of knowledge carry a big responsibility - please don't let the flame go out. jose '-) http://www.metastocktools.com

Dear Mr. Knowitall, The yahoo EquisMetastock group was the original forum, several members left that group and started Metastoc[censored]ers when they became dissatisfied with Equis. It became infected with [censored] sites and Spam, thanks to Preston Umrish,he cleaned the site and restored the quality topics. Many of the members of Metastoc[censored]ers were also members of EquisMetastock. The files were the same as well as several of the posts. I doubt that any of the topics and responses will be missed! How often do you start back from page 1 and re-read the posts. The search capability of the yahoo forum is not up to this site's. Towards the end of Metastoc[censored]ers, most of the topics ranged from free data services to posting spam subscription software from India. After years of having been Moderator and constantly being bombarded with spam and viruses, I had enough. If you don't have the facts, then don't spread lies ! Stockcentral.com.au was far and above what Metastoc[censored]er would have ever accomplished. Austin [censored] also developed a fee induced site dedicated to serious traders. As time for server maintenance came for Stockcentral, Austin decided to use that server for his new site. Money rules! Self-centered and delusional Bankers should not be allowed to post Spam! I agree with you there, and neither should Plagiarists. As far as forums go, they will continue on with or without certain members. People will always seek knowledge. I wish them well.
