Hey Janzacek- Welcome to the forum! You can set your user name and password to whatever you'd like. 1. Press and hold the SHIFT key. 2. While holding the SHIFT key, click the MetaStock Community button . The MetaStock Community dialog appears. Note that you can only change your nickname and password once per MetaStock session. To change them again, close and restart MetaStock, then repeat this procedure.

Just type any username and password you want ... The problem is that if you type a username that has already been taken it will deny you access. So make sure to pick an original user name ;) Patrick

Also - don't worry too much if the Community chats have no one in them... They don't get a lot of traffic as most people are here. Will work on that later. :) M

You can also enter into the same chat using the Jeti server. Just click on 'Chat' found on the banner menu at the top of your forum screen. You'll need to be logged into the forum for this feature to work.

Hi, thanks for answers, but the dialog still ends with "Could not reach server..." Do I need to reconfigure firewalls and enable some specific ports? Thanks, Jan

hey janzacek I have the same problems as you type. I call equis support to get resolve and they tell me this: Description: How can I connect to Metastock Community if I dont't get a signal from a server? It show me "Could not reach server" I try to restart computer but still now work, Ps: I type password, and user nameserver name: community.equis.com Comments Comment From Date Konrad, Follow these steps to address the problem you are experiencing with Metastock Community: 1. Open Windows Control Panel and choose 'Add/Remove Programs'. 2. Locate 'Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1' and select the option to Remove it. 3. Insert the Metastock CD, then open 'My Computer' and browse the CD ROM Drive. 4. Open the folder named '.Net Framework 1.1' and run the file named 'dotnetfix.exe'. My firewall allow Metastock Community files ,and all Metastock Reuters, Thanks!

Make sure your virus protector is allowing an exception too. Especially if you have Norton AV with worm protection enabled.
