Chris aka TerminmarktWelt.de needs help with this one-
Quote:...my problem is the download historical intraday data with the Equis Downloader.
I create a local security (Symbol US@ND05M) with 60 minute bars in the Downloader but i only get an error message: Collection Status Not requested -- Invalid Periodicity. Maybe the graphic will make a little bit more clear.
So my question is: How to download intraday data with the downloader?

You don't donload intraday data with the dwonloader
If you have esignal or quote.com, you need to use the real time data server to store intraday data on your PC. There is a lot to say about it but for now let's just agree that the downloader will only allow you to download end of day data.

Here is how you would do it for Esignal and Quote.com
In The Downloader, we can create local intraday securities which will begin collecting tick or 1 minute data from the point they are created and will update as long as you are connected to the internet, and the Data Server, File Servers and the eSignal Data Manager are running. These files will eventually build up the historical data, over time. There are a few draw-backs, there is a 14 character symbol limit, you cannot collect any history, as it has to be accumulated over time and if at any time you lose your internet connection or the connection to the eSignal Data Manager, you may have gaps in the data.
You will need to create local intraday securities to collect the data. To create the local intraday files, follow the instructions below:
1. Open The Downloader go into File | New | Security.
2. Set the folder path to the location on the hard drive where you want to store and collect the data.
3. Type in the name and symbol in the given sections.
4. Set the Periodicity to intraday and set the interval to 1 minute (or the desired periodicity) and hit ok.
5. It will ask you if you want to create the folder. Click Yes.
6. Next it will ask if you want to select this folder for real time updates, Click Yes.
7. This will begin collecting data from this point forward, just a reminder no historical data will be collected, it must be built up over time.
