Hi,
I want to create a simple volume exploration where I explore for stocks that have a volume greater than 1 million shares. I created a formula as follows:
Col A
VOLUME
FILTER
ColA>1000000
This does not give me any results, only normal filter rejection because Metastock uses a x10 indicator for volume, i.e. 1 million shares is not 1,000,000 but rather 100,000x10 and therefore, does not find any results. My question is what modification do I have to make to my formula to get the proper results of only showing stocks that have a daily volume of more than 1 million shares?

hey olobay...... change your filter to v>10000, that should return a list of 1 mill or better volumes.....h

I'm assuming you mean v>1000000 but that doesn't give me any stocks because, like I said, Meatstock uses 100000x10.

No he means V>10000
When you download data in a local file it is divided by 100.
Regardless of how it appears on your chart.
Try it in your exploration

Ok. Thank you. But won't this also give me stocks with a volume greater than 10,000, i.e. a stock that has a volume of 25,000? I really only want stocks with more than 1 million but I will try it.

If a stock has a volume of 25000 in the metastock file the volume will be 250 and therefore less than the 10000 you used in your filter.
Just remember that the volume "in the data file" is always divided by 100 ( Does not matter what the MetaStock chart shows you ).
Sorry this is somewhat confusing, just take our word for it :)
