Trusting that you have survived the surfeit of holiday wining (despite the SAQ strike) and dining in the company of loved ones, for the last gathering of 2004, Wednesday Night offers a menu of intellectual exercise and food for thought about international investment strategy in the coming year. We are delighted to welcome Olivier d'Auriol from Switzerland for a return visit (see http://www.wednesday-night.com/Wed1166.asp ). Having served in a number of senior positions with international banks, Olivier founded and is CEO of Olivier d'Auriol Asset Management SA, which launched a fund of funds of hedge funds. In October 2004, he participated in a panel on "What traditional strategies still make sense in today’s market place and what new strategies are driving the market?" at the Euromoney Seminar 5th Annual Summit on the Future of Hedge Funds. To further stimulate the discussion, Connor O'Brien of Stanton Asset Management is coming from Tremblant for the evening and has encouraged several of his associates to join us. Olivier has proven to be a wonderfully articulate contributor to Wednesday Night and we look forward to a thought-provoking and challenging evening in his company. We are also very happy that Kimon Valaskakis returns to give us a full account of the successful undertakings of the Club of Athens, Global Governance Group, and to add his usual thought-provoking commentary on the global economy. We will of course welcome all contributions of predictions (economic, political and otherwise) for the coming year. Please check http://www.wednesday-night.com/Wed1191.asp for updates, new topics, news flashes and other required reading Should you not be able to be with us, we look forward to your return early in 2005 Wishing you much joy in the New Year, David and Diana diananicholson@WednesdayNight.net
