Alright : http://forum.equis.com/chat/chatbox.php This connects directly into the general Forum room ( just as if you were in MetaStock except you don't need to own metastock or start metastock )... Just type your user name and password and click on log in ( or register if you are new ) Don't change any other settings ... for now  I'm tired so I'm going to bed ... but I'm happy :D ( sorry wabbit I lied  ) let me know what you guys think ... it is a little slow the first time you load it ... It will be improved ... a little :D Patrick

Webby i had the exact problem with my MS9, heres the fix equis support supplied me with. S1nbad. Hope t helps. 1. Go into the Control Panel. 2. Add\\Remove programs. 3. Uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. 4. Insert the Metastock CD while holding down the "Shift" key, to bypass the installation. 5. Let go of the "shift" key after about 5 seconds and go into My Computer. 6. Right click onto the CD drive and select "Explore". 7. Open up the .NET Framework folder and run the executable file. Then reboot the computer and try to log into the chat, again and let me know if you continue to have problems. Thanks, Stephanie Equis Support support@equis.com (801)265-9998

How does IE6 need to be setup to enable the java applet? I can't get it to load from my office computer. I gues they don't want me to chat on company time. :(

It goes thru port 5222 ... Now you may want to make sure you have the Java 1.5 installed ... http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp

UhOh... I am using Win2000 with Java 1.1.4. Unable to install 1.5 due to restricted access. :smt022

I am going to be a 'from home logging on person' too - have too many things set up just right and I don't want to sacrifice the delicate balance... :)

No problem ... The reason I removed your post is because uninstalling a windows update is not a fix in my book. It works but we have something better. Plus Marilyn was referring to the chat connection I just set up on the forum. Patrick
